In late 2023, German Ship Repair Jamaica Limited (GSRJ) proudly opened a new shipyard for ship repair and maintenance services in Kingston, Jamaica. The arrival of the first Panamax-size Floating Dock in Jamaica in August 2023 and the successful docking of the first ship in November marked a new chapter in the company’s history and also for the maritime history of Jamaica and the region.  After decades of experience in mobile repair activities, the GSRJ team has now largely expanded its scope of services to include drydocking and servicing of commercial vessels up to 230m length, 32 m width and 20,000 tons displacement. Centrally located in the Kingston’s expanding logistic hub, the GSRJ shipyard represents a new landmark in the Harbour of Kingston, offering reliable and efficient ship repair services to its customers in the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico and beyond.
